This Is Not Happening is a comedy storytelling show hosted by Ari Shaffir on Comedy Central. The basic premise of this show is comedians telling true stories from their lives in front of a live audience, often around a specific theme per audience. This show started as a web series for its first two seasons, before making the transition to television, a first for this channel.

The ten latest episodes in #ThisIsHappening’s third season were filmed in front of a live audience at Cheetahs in Hollywood, similar to the last two seasons. Of course, what you really want to know is what comedians are taking the stage to share their stories in this season, and Comedy Central is certainly going all out.

The third season will feature stories from Sofiya Alexandra, Gastor Almonte, Louie Anderson, Maria Bamford, Greg Behrendt, Lavell Crawford, Joey Diaz, Greg Fitzsimmons, Sean Flannery, Al Jackson, Pete Johansson, Andy Kindler, Bert Kreischer, Joe List, Julian McCullough, Bonnie McFarlane, Big Jay Oakerson, Russell Peters, Brian Regan, Dave Ross, Rory Scovel, Scruncho, Ryan Sickler, Steve Simeone, Doug Stanhope, Dan St. Germain, Nick Thune, Liza Treyger, Sal Vulcano, Andrew W.K. and more. Which of these names are you most excited to hear from? Some of the themes for episodes this season include mortality and scumbags from the comedians’ lives.

Being able to craft a humorous story is one of the hallmarks of standup comedy, so it’s a bit of a surprise that a channel known for comedians hasn’t decided to hone in on this concept sooner. However, critics and viewers alike agree that it is worth the wait. The show currently has an 8.1 on IMDb and a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. Much of what viewers loved about the web series has been expertly translated to television, not only hosting insightful and humorous content from a wide variety of comedians but also using overarching themes to keep the show from feeling like just another showcase of standup routines.
